Registration: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM
Walk Start Time: 9:30 AM
Program & Activities: 8:45 AM – 11:30 AM
Length of Event: 5K Walk (approx. 3.1 miles)

Event Day Schedule

8:00 AM ­- Registration Opens

8:30 AM ­- Remembrance Ceremony in front of balloon arch. This is an elective ceremony for people to join if they want to honor a loved one who has passed away. We will take a few minutes to read a poem and listen to a song and reflect on their memory.

9:00 AM ­- Opening remarks and the update from the National Brain Tumor Society

9:15 AM ­- Brain tumor survivor story.

9:20 AM ­-­ ­Survivor Photo in front of the stage. All survivors at the event are encouraged to be in the photo.

9:30 AM ­-­ Walk begins underneath the balloon arch!

11:00 AM ­- Silent Auction closes! Make your bids accordingly prior to closure.

11:05 AM ­- ­Closing Remarks

Rain or shine the event will go on! Regardless of weather, layered clothing, windbreakers, sunglasses, and sunscreen are recommended.

**Please use the Orangewood Ave. entrance to the stadium as this will be only gate open for our event. Parking is free!**

Silent Auction
We encourage Teams and/or individual participants to bring silent auction items to this year’s Southern California Brain Tumor Walk! The amount raised for the items you bring will go back to your team or individual fundraising tally.

Please email Jeremie Sulit to receive your silent auction form. Feel free to bring as many silent auction items as you’d like. Silent Auction items will be in a designated canopy on the day of the event and you can drop them off to the volunteer in charge of the area.

Don’t forget to bring your wallets so you can bid on some of our items!

Shirt Pick Up

All registered participants will receive an event shirt and can be picked up when you check-in at tomorrow’s event.

Dogs at the event

Dogs are allowed at the event.  Please be sure they are on a leash.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a registration fee?

Registration for the Walk is $25 until August 26th.  Fees will increase to $30 from August 27th-September 24th at noon.  Event day registration is $40.  Youth under 17 are FREE. All participants receive a free t-shirt. Upon registration, you will receive a personal fundraising page and useful online tools to help you jumpstart your efforts. Even after the event is over, you will still have access to your personal fundraising page, allowing you to maximize your impact in the fight against brain tumors.

Am I required to fundraise a minimum amount?

Adults are encouraged to raise a minimum of $500 or more to help fund the discovery of a cure and better treatments for brain tumors.

Where do Brain Tumor Events funds go?

Proceeds from the event support research to find a cure for brain tumors, public policy advocacy, and patient information to make sure the critical needs of the brain tumor community are met, through the National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS).

Do I need to register my children?

No, children 17 and younger do not need to register or pay a fee to attend the event. However, we strongly encourage you to register your children ahead of time so that we can anticipate their attendance and secure their commemorative t-shirt.

Can I walk and volunteer?

Yes! If you plan to walk and volunteer, please register as a Walker FIRST, and then email your contact information to us.

What are Matching Gift Programs?

Many employers have matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees. Ask your employer or HR department for more information. Generally, you will be asked to complete and submit a form to NBTS for approval. This form can be sent to the above address.

Are pets allowed at the event?

Pets are allowed as long as they are on a leash that is less than 6 feet long.
