In response to the multiple fires that continue to affect our communities throughout Southern California, we have made the decision to cancel this year’s Los Angeles Brain Freeze, which was scheduled to be held on Saturday, November 2, at Hermosa Beach Pier Plaza.
We, at the National Brain Tumor Society, understand that our community has been looking forward to this event, but we want to be mindful of all those who are being affected by the fires in nearby areas.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
Can we reschedule the event to later this year?
Unfortunately, the answer is no. We work with the City of Hermosa Beach a year in advance to permit the event on a specific date. Once that date is chosen, it cannot be moved. It also isn’t viable to move to a different location, as it is not only cost-prohibitive but also because most venues in Los Angeles require quite a bit of time for permitting and approving.
Will I still be able to receive an event t-shirt and other incentives I qualified for?
Yes! We will mail out event shirts and incentives to your team captains.
Again, we apologize for the cancellation and remain grateful for your support of our mission to conquer and cure brain tumors.
All funds raised through our events allow the National Brain Tumor Society to advance research and public policy to improve the availability of new and better treatments and fuel the discovery of a cure for brain tumors.
