Welcome to the New York City Brain Tumor Walk, an event to raise awareness and much-needed resources to fund critical brain tumor-specific programs to improve the lives of all those affected by brain tumors. Hosted by the National Brain Tumor Society, the New York Brain Tumor Walk offers individuals and teams a chance to honor and remember loved ones, connect with others interested in the brain tumor cause, and helps to educate the local community on the diverse needs of the brain tumor community.
We walk rain or shine on June 23rd. Please remember to wear rain gear!
Rain may dampen our walk route, but it certainly won’t dampen our spirits at the New York City Brain Tumor Walk. We’ll see you tomorrow morning to STOMP OUT BRAIN TUMORS! However, we are keeping a watchful eye on the weather and your safety is important to us. Our biggest concern is the possibility of lightning because our event relies on metal-framed canopy tents and the park does not supply any shelter from inclement weather. This may cause delays in our program. Please consider the weather when making the decision to join us (http://www.noaa.gov/).
We’re looking for volunteers. View our list of volunteer opportunities!
All funds raised through our events allow the National Brain Tumor Society to advance research and public policy to improve the availability of new and better treatments, and fuel the discovery of a cure for brain tumors.
Registration will remain open for participants. However, our registration check-in list was pulled on Thursday, June 21st at 12 noon. Anyone who registers online after this time will not be included on the check-in list. You will simply be asked to pull up your personal web page on your smartphone along with id to show that you have registered and paid the $25 fee. Alternatively, you can fill out a paper registration form and provide the fee with a check, cash or credit card at the registration tent on the day of the walk. Kids 17 and under are not charged a fee.
