It is encouraged that you wear close toed shoes not only for the walk but because there are many water fowl at the park and they are messy!

Top team and top individual fundraisers will be acknowledged during the closing ceremony. Rain or shine the event will go on! Regardless of weather, layered clothing, windbreakers, sunglasses, and sunscreen are recommended.

Directions & Parking

The entrance to Vasona Lake Park is located on Blossom Hill Road in Los Gatos. From southbound Highway 17, exit at Lark Avenue and travel east. Turn right on Los Gatos Boulevard and right again onto Blossom Hill Road. Walk-in entrances are located on Garden Hill Drive and University Avenue. Public transit is also available.

Handicapped parking will be available to those needing it at the Boat Center parking area. Signs will be posted and volunteers will be there to support. There will also be ample parking for all of our walkers at the Peppertree and Lakeview Group areas. Parking will be $6 per car as you enter the park. A view of park is here.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a registration fee?

Registration for the Walk is $25. Youth under 18 are free. All participants receive a free t-shirt. Upon registration, you will receive a personal fundraising page and useful online tools to help you jumpstart your efforts. Even after the event is over, you will still have access to your personal fundraising page, allowing you to maximize your impact in the fight against brain tumors.

Am I required to fundraise a minimum amount?

Adults are encouraged to raise a minimum of $500 or more to help fund the discovery of a cure and better treatments for brain tumors.

Where do Brain Tumor Events funds go?

Proceeds from the event support research to find a cure for brain tumors, public policy advocacy, and patient information to make sure the critical needs of the brain tumor community are met, through the National Brain Tumor Society.

Do I need to register my children?

No, children 17 and younger do not need to register or pay a fee to attend the event. However, we strongly encourage you to register your children ahead of time so that we can anticipate their attendance and secure their commemorative t-shirt.

I plan to participate to support one of my friends and their team. Do I still have to register?

If you are walking, running or riding you must register to participate. If you plan to attend as a cheering section, you do not need to register. Registration is open the day of the event.

Can I walk and volunteer?

Yes! If you plan to walk and volunteer, please register as a Walker FIRST, and then email your contact information to us.

What are Matching Gift Programs?

Many employers have matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees. Ask your employer or HR department for more information. Generally, you will be asked to complete and submit a form to NBTS for approval. This form can be sent to the above address.

Are pets allowed at the event?

Pet policies vary, and are based on the rules of each venue. If pets are permitted at the venue, please keep your pets on a leash at all times. And, if your pet does not do well in large crowds, please consider leaving them at home. Please do not leave your pet in your car during the event.

Will I receive an event t-shirt?

To maximize every dollar raised, we only provide event T-shirts to registered survivors and volunteers. However, we also offer T-shirts for adults and children at each event, in exchange for a donation.
