Top team and top individual fundraisers will be acknowledged during the closing ceremony.

The event takes place, rain or shine! Regardless of weather, layered clothing, wind breakers, sunglasses, and sunscreen are recommended.

All registrants must check in at the registration tent! New participants can also sign up at the registration tent. Donations should be brought to the registration tent on the day of the walk.

We encourage you to gather your team in our Tent City area! Please bring a tent, chairs and lots of team spirit (no staking, no BBQ, no alcohol). While Refreshments will be made available, please feel free to bring a cooler, pack a lunch and enjoy the day!

Parking

$8.00 Parking fee (Cash Only) will be taken by parking attendants at Field 5 Entrance. Parking pay stations are located at the East and West bathhouse on Ocean Parkway eastbound. Click here to view map.

All funds raised through these events, allows the National Brain Tumor Society to advance research and public policy to improve the lives of all those living with a brain tumor, as well as anyone who will be diagnosed tomorrow.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a registration fee?

Registration for the Walk is $25. Youth 17 and under are free. All participants receive a t-shirt. Upon registration, you will receive a personal fundraising page and useful online tools to help you jumpstart your efforts. Even after the event is over, you will still have access to your personal fundraising page, allowing you to maximize your impact in the fight against brain tumors.

Am I required to fundraise a minimum amount?

Adults are encouraged to raise a minimum of $500 or more to help fund the discovery of a cure and better treatments for brain tumors.

Where do Brain Tumor Events funds go?

Proceeds from the event support research to find a cure for brain tumors, public policy advocacy, and patient information to make sure the critical needs of the brain tumor community are met, through the National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS).

Do I need to register my children?

No, children 17 and younger do not need to register or pay a fee to attend the event. However, we strongly encourage you to register your children ahead of time so that we can anticipate their attendance and secure their commemorative t-shirt.

I plan to participate to support one of my friends and their team. Do I still have to register?

If you are walking, running or riding you must register to participate. If you plan to attend as a cheering section, you do not need to register. Registration is open the day of the event.

Can I walk and volunteer?

Yes! If you plan to walk and volunteer, please choose the Adult Participant & Volunteer button when registering or the Volunteer button, if you don’t plan on walking.  After registration is complete, you will receive an email asking you to choose a volunteer shift and role. What are Matching Gift Programs?

Many employers have matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees. Ask your employer or HR department for more information. Generally, you will be asked to complete and submit a form to NBTS for approval. This form can be sent to NBTS, Attn: Long Island Brain Tumor Walk, 55 Chapel Street, Suite 200, Newton MA 02458.

Are pets allowed at the event?

Pet policies vary, and are based on the rules of each venue. If pets are permitted at the venue, please keep your pets on a leash at all times. And, if your pet does not do well in large crowds, please consider leaving them at home. Please do not leave your pet in your car during the event.

Will I receive an event t-shirt?

All registered participants, volunteers, and survivors receive a t-shirt.
