Event Day Program

7:30 AM: Registration Opens

9:00 AM: Survivor Walk

9:15 AM: 10K Start and 5K Race/Walk Start

11:00 AM: Awards Ceremony

11:30 AM: Event Ends – See you in 2018!

Rain or shine, the event will go on!

Regardless of weather, layered clothing, windbreakers, sunglasses and sunscreen are recommended.

Packet Pickup Information:

Bib Pickup will be at the Charlotte Running Company in Dilworth from 4-7pm on Friday, March 31. You may also pick up your bib the morning of the race.

Drop Off

Difficulty Walking?
If you arrive before 8:00am and have a loved one with a tough time walking or in a wheelchair, you can drop them off right at the event site. Just pull over on Church street at the park, let our volunteers know and then move your car to a nearby parking deck.

Dropping off Team Tents/Materials?
Come by Friday evening between 4-7pm and you can drop off your tent, chairs, tables, etc. We will have overnight security to watch your stuff! Don’t set up your tent, just in case there’s wind, until the morning of the event.

The 10K route is a double loop, meaning you will run the 5K course twice, taking a left just before the start/finish line onto W. Church Street.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a registration fee?
Fees are required for any timed event such as Charlotte Brain Tumor Race.
The 5k walk is $25 for adults and free for youth under 18.
5k race is $35 for adults and $10 for youth under 18.
10k race is $40 for adults and $15 for youth under 18.
Upon registration, you will receive a personal fundraising page and useful online tools to help you jumpstart your efforts. Even after the event is over, you will still have access to your personal fundraising page, allowing you to maximize your impact in the fight against brain tumors.

Am I required to fundraise a minimum amount?

Adults are encouraged to raise a minimum of $200 or more to help fund the discovery of a cure and better treatments for brain tumors.A donation table is available at the event to drop off checks and cash. Be sure to bring your donations with you so we can count them there towards the day end totals!

Where do Brain Tumor Events funds go?

Proceeds from the event support research to find a cure for brain tumors, public policy advocacy, and patient information to make sure the critical needs of the brain tumor community are met, through the National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS).

Do I need to register my children?

Children ages 6-17 are required to register. Children ages 5 and under do not need to register for this event.

I plan to participate to support one of my friends and their team. Do I still have to register?

If you are walking, running or riding you must register to participate. If you plan to attend as a cheering section, you do not need to register. Registration is open the day of the event.Registration is open at the event for anyone to register. If you are registering for the 10K run, you MUST register by 8:00 AM. Registration will close at 8:30 AM. Registration fees increase after Wednesday, March 19 at 11:59 PM to $50/$15

Can I walk and volunteer?

Yes! If you plan to walk and volunteer, please register as a Walker FIRST, and then email us your contact information.

What are Matching Gift Programs?

Many employers have matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees. Ask your employer or HR department for more information. Generally, you will be asked to complete and submit a form to NBTS for approval. This form can be sent to the above address.

Are pets allowed at the event?

Well-behaved pups are permitted to join us! Please keep your pets on a leash at all times. And, if your pet does not do well in large crowds, please consider leaving them at home. Please do not leave your pet in your car during the event.

Will I receive an event t-shirt?

All registered participants, volunteers, and survivors receive a t-shirt.
