Getting to the event

Shuttles will be available and running back and forth regularly from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM from the JFK/UMass MBTA station to the walk site. Look for the sign on the shuttle that says “Brain Tumor Walk”.

Drop-Off Information
There will be a designated drop-off/loading area. Look for the sign!

Available lots are Lots D and the Bayside Lot (circled in the attached map).

We encourage walkers to car pool and utilize public transportation. Street parking is also available.

Event Day Program

Registration and check-in open at 8:00 AM.

With your free registration, you gain full access to food, beverages and all event activities. In addition, you’ll have access to an online personal fundraising page after the event to continue raising funds all year long. Event T-shirts are given out to Volunteers and Survivors ONLY. Please note that premium event T-shirts will be available onsite for a donation.

Event program starts at 9:00 AM, followed by the walk at approximately 9:30 AM.

New this year! Before the walk begins, we will be holding a memorial where we invite team captains to the stage to share the name of the person they are walking for. Listen for this announcement around 9:15 AM.

This is not a race and participants are not required to walk the full course. Those who wish to remain in the picnic area during the walk are welcome to do so.

Top team and top individual fundraisers will be acknowledged during the closing ceremony.

Rain or shine the event will go on!

Team Gathering Area
The team gathering area is next to the Food Tent. Look for the “Team Gathering Area” sign and locate your team in this area prior to the Walk.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a registration fee?

There are no registration fees for a Brain Tumor Walk. However, you are required to register in order to participate in the walk and gain access to all event activities.Upon registration, you will receive a personal fundraising page and useful online tools to help you jumpstart your efforts. Even after the event is over, you will still have access to your personal fundraising page, allowing you to maximize your impact in the fight against brain tumors.

Am I required to fundraise a minimum amount?

Adults are encouraged to raise a minimum of $200 or more to help fund the discovery of a cure and better treatments for brain tumors.

Where do Brain Tumor Events funds go?

Proceeds from the event support research to find a cure for brain tumors, public policy advocacy, and patient information to make sure the critical needs of the brain tumor community are met, through the National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS).

Do I need to register my children?

Children ages 6-17 are required to register. Children ages 5 and under do not need to register for this event.

I plan to participate to support one of my friends and their team. Do I still have to register?

If you are walking, running or riding you must register to participate. If you plan to attend as a cheering section, you do not need to register. Registration is open the day of the event.

Can I walk and volunteer?

Yes! If you plan to walk and volunteer, please register as a Walker FIRST, and then email your contact information to us.

What are Matching Gift Programs?

Many employers have matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees. Ask your employer or HR department for more information. Are pets allowed at the event?

Pet policies vary, and are based on the rules of each venue. If pets are permitted at the venue, please keep your pets on a leash at all times. And, if your pet does not do well in large crowds, please consider leaving them at home. Please do not leave your pet in your car during the event.

Will I receive an event t-shirt?

To maximize every dollar raised, we only provide event T-shirts to registered survivors and volunteers. However, we also offer T-shirts for adults and children at each event, in exchange for a donation.
